A Head of Commercial role has now arisen within a well-established legal team to provide commercial legal advice and support to the Group.

Reporting to the General Counsel, responsibility includes the provision of solutions focused and pragmatic legal advice in relation to the commercial legal and regulatory aspects of the Group's commercial and operational affairs

In this role you will be responsible for, inter alia, recruiting, managing and overseeing the Commercial team, including effective performance management and coaching.

You will also handle the Group's UK and international commercial contract review process and manage risk and commercial reward in agreements with clients, contractors and suppliers.

You will also understand the Group's strategy, its operational and commercial needs and, accordingly, its needs for commercial legal advice, acting as a trusted commercial legal adviser to the leadership population.

Working with the Legal & Compliance Operations Manager you will develop and maintain appropriate internal know-how and expertise, together with continual improvement and benchmarking and to drive strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results.


A lawyer with at least 8pqe ideally gained within a business, or as a commercial or corporate associate in a law firm.

Your experience should include leading and managing teams of lawyers.

Up to date with relevant legal and industry developments, you will have strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship building skills including experience in building strong relationships of trust with senior stakeholders and/or clients.

Able to manage a heavy workload, to balance and prioritise multiple time-sensitive tasks, and manage competing priorities effectively and independently, including driving results and delivering to deadlines and budgets, you will be self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude, execution-orientated and focused on seeking solutions and possibilities.

The role offers an opportunity for some homeworking.
