Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
An opportunity has arisen for a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join the busy corporate team at a large South West local authority. This exciting role covers a wide spectrum of commercial matters and subject areas, including Regulatory, Utilities, Concessions, Procurement, Construction, Infrastructure, Housing, Energy, Environment, Adult Social Care, Children's Services, Schools and the NHS.
This is an on-going assignment. Previous locum lawyers at this authority have enjoyed long term contracts of at least 6 months, with many still in post after a year.
This is a full time role. Candidates are able to work remotely after an initial bedding in period up to 3 days each week.
This is an opportunity to join a team of specialist lawyers, all of whom have a wealth of public sector experience between them. The team advises on major projects regularly, working mainly for the local area, but in more recent years have started advising throughout the South West region, working in partnership with their neighbouring councils.
Duties will include:
- Drafting a range of agreements and contracts, including: non-disclosure agreements, loan agreements, operator agreements, finance agreements, joint ventures, public sector partnerships
- Advising on general commercial and compliance matters
- Advising on governance matters, constitutional law etc.
- Handling company law issues
This post will give the successful applicant great exposure to complex and varied work. The post holder will enjoy a high level of responsibility with a great deal of client contact.
Hourly rate is negotiable dependent upon experience but candidates can expect an offer of £40 - £50 per hour (umbrella) [Inside IR35]
