My client is one of the largest full service law firms in the world, acting for the public and private sector with offices across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia providing legal advice to clients across its Company Commercial, Human Resources, Legal Systems, Litigation and Dispute Management and Real Estate Practices.

Their Employment Team is one of the largest and most highly regarded in the country acting for 15% of the FTSE 100, numerous international and FTSE 250 companies as well as a host of public sector organisations. The team has over 30 lawyers and support staff covering the full range of employment matters for corporate clients including contentious, non-contentious and advocacy support.

They are currently looking for an Immigration Paralegal to join the Birmingham office. Your main role will be to support the Employment team to deal with a range of immigration and international employment matters.

Key responsibilities:

Working alongside a team of lawyers and specialists, you will take ownership for their on-line systems and all related activities to ensure a smooth process on behalf of our corporate clients. Both roles are heavily client facing and you should be confident in communicating both over phone and email as well as face to face with a wide range of clients.

Your day to day duties may include:

  • Administration of UK Visa Certificates of Sponsorship including liaising with HR professionals to deliver a high quality support service.
  • Liaison with our international network of lawyers to obtain updates on live matters , initiate new work and project manage documents for assignees
  • Coordination of UK and international billing including tracking international fees and ensuring international purchase ledgers are settled and files are managed within agreed estimates
  • Matter management of projects and general advisory work including reporting on matter progress to both internal and external clients

As a background, you will be either be experienced in immigration/employment matters or have a strong paralegal background. On top of this, you must have excellent academics and be confident working with a top-tier international legal practice.
