FINANCIAL SERVICES REGULATORY PARTNER DESIGNATE

Aspiring financial services regulatory senior associate sought by highly successful central London law firm for partner designate role as part of the practice’s succession planning.

This firm has enjoyed several years of great success as it has outperformed competitors with consistently impressive financial performance both in terms of revenue growth and increases in profits.  Consequently, it has been of ever-increasing appeal to partners who have been surpassing their peer group at large City/international firms that have experienced more mixed fortunes in recent years.

Well-run by effective management, this independent single-office central London firm has a very bright future.  Having considerable strength in corporate, and established and growing capabilities in funds and finance, the partnership is keen to further bolster its existing financial services regulatory offering to better capitalise on revenue opportunities emanating from these groups and their clients.

The financial services offering is led by a highly respected partner with strong relationships with significant clients, largely international banks, private banks, funds, exchange traders and brokers.  With succession in mind, this team seeks to bring in a senior associate with excellent client handling skills and first rate technical ability to assume a partner designate role.

The firm can gladly accommodate practitioners who would like to retain a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious financial services regulatory matters, and also individuals who would like to remain involved with transactional finance matters as well as regulatory issues.  The main key skillset sought, however, relates to non-litigious financial services regulatory advisory experience.

By way of examples, recent projects undertaken include advising a UK bank on capital adequacy; assisting a financial consultancy on AML rules and processes; advising an overseas bank on the transfer of its assets to another subsidiary; advising a foreign financial institution on payment services matters; advising on passporting issues; assisting a hedge fund impacted by Eurozone upheaval; advising a US headquartered broker on marketing financial products in the UK, advising foreign exchange traders on new developments, assisting funds clients with AIFMD compliance.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious senior associate seeking a clear and short path to partnership with a supportive and relaxed firm that is undertaking challenging financial services work for a diverse client base.  This is a lead role benefiting from a strong platform with clear scope for further growth.
