DATA PROTECTION PARTNER – Central London

Ref: 13412

Global powerhouse private practice law firm, undertaking major transactions for market leading corporates at the forefront of their industry sectors, seeks to hire up-and-coming or established data protection partner.

With significant presences in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia, and a multinational client list of the highest quality, this distinguished legal practice has a particularly strong track record on high end cross border corporate deals, transformative commercial projects, and business critical advisory matters.

As data protection and cyber security advice has become a more significant concern for international businesses, the firm has invested in market leading expertise to satisfy this demand.  Whilst the department head is rated very highly, and ably supported by a talented associate team, the practice would benefit greatly from the strategic hire of another dedicated data privacy and cyber partner.

The practice undertakes all manner of work pertaining to European and global data protection and cyber security compliance and governance, advising on strategy, assisting with data monetisation, providing guidance on network security, and advising on cross-border data transfers, amongst other things.

This specialist team is bolstered by, and leverages, very well respected departments that cross over regularly with the data protection practice, such as employment/human resources, corporate technology, and contentious and non-contentious IT/IP teams (focused on outsourcing, software/content licensing, cloud computing, FinTech, media and so forth).

The data and cyber practice’s client base mirrors that of the wider firm.  Prominent media and entertainment clients include some of the major names in advertising and marketing, e-commerce, telecommunications and telecoms, film and TV, and gaming.  The firm’s life sciences and health sector clients list comprises some of the biggest players worldwide, and their financial services and natural resources (mining, oil and gas, power) client roster is equally impressive.

As well as becoming part of a foremost legal brand on the global stage, where they made early and considerable investment in a specialist data protection business line, you would be joining a dynamic, collegial, fully integrated law firm with single profit pool with a very good lateral hiring track record (including a smooth recruitment process).
