Rare and challenging senior associate role with market leading Public Inquiries and Investigations team based in Birmingham.
Our client is a major firm with a stellar reputation in advising on complex public inquiries and investigations of national renown.
The firm's partner led inquiries and investigations team is very well-established and comprises a dedicated team of experienced lawyers working for clients in the public and private sectors. Acting on behalf of high profile governmental inquiries, including sensitive matters of national security or public interest, the team has been involved in some of the largest public inquiries conducted in the UK over the past 20 years, either acting as Solicitors to the Inquiry or representing core participants.
The firm is looking to appoint a senior associate with circa 5 years experience to join this team. Previous experience of public inquiry work would be preferable or experience of Judicial review, healthcare / mental capacity work would be of interest. In this role you will act as a solicitor to statutory and non-statutory inquiries, undertaking internal investigations and independent reviews, drafting procedural rules for inquiries and internal investigations and reviewing evidence as well as liaising with and interviewing a range of witnesses. Experience of advising on matters such as Article 2 inquests, freedom of information and data protection as well as judicial review and reputation management work would be helpful.
