JOB TITLE: Contracts Lawyer

PQE REQUIRED: 7 years+ PQE

LOCATION: Birmingham

SALARY: £Excellent

THE ROLE:

The appointed Contracts Solicitor will join a team that combines procurement and legal contracts expertise. The Solicitor will take a leading role in the reviewing, drafting and negotiating of contracts of a range of values in a wide variety of areas. The Solicitor will need to apply a commercial approach to all aspects of contract work and in some instances, a will be required to risk-manage. Due to the seniority of this position, the Solicitor will be require to assist junior members of the team with their workloads and any queries they may have from time to time. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Contracts Solicitor who is looking to work on a challenging caseload of high quality matters and who is passionate about helping to develop and grow a team within this area of law.

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal Contracts Solicitor will have an excellent academic record and will have at least seven years of post qualification experience gained within a general commercial of IT role, either in-house or within private practice. Our client is flexible and will consider Solicitors with less experience if they are otherwise ideal from the role. The Solicitor should have a good grasp of the principles in relation to data protection, IPRs and TUPE, and should be able to advise independently in relation to these .The Contracts Solicitor should have a commercial focused approached to their work, exceptional drafting skills and a keen eye for detail. The Solicitor should be able to apply their drafting skills to a wide range of commercial contracts and should appreciate the legal issues relevant to the firm's procurement.
