Construction Litigation Lawyer
Our client is a highly regarded international law firm and is looking for a lawyer to join their busy Construction team in Leeds and focus on contentious work. The firm have an excellent reputation for their Construction work, locally, nationally and internationally and therefore you will be handling some first class work.
They are recruiting at between nq-2years pqe but are also looking for a more experienced lawyer as well. For the more junior role they are happy to offer training to a high calibre lawyer committed to building their career within a contentious area but who perhaps hasn't had the opportunity to focus on construction work as yet. They have had success with this approach in the past so know that it can work well, particularly when lawyers have strong commercial litigation or professional negligence experience. For the more senior role they would be keen to attract someone who already had construction litigation experience, either from a commercial or insurance background.
Both roles are to join their Leeds team who, as part of a larger northern group, act for major clients throughout the world. You will regularly deal with large-scale matters involving multiple jurisdictions for multi-nationals and will be expected to think strategically as well as legally. The client base is broad and includes public bodies, governments and international contractors.
Our client is looking for someone with solid litigation or construction litigation experience to join the team and support with high quality work. They need people who have the ability to be technically strong, who have first rate organisational skills, who are committed to delivering a quality service to clients and who can build and maintain an excellent rapport with clients. The firm, have a practical approach to their work and want someone who can not only understand complex legal arguments but who has the ability to relay these clearly to your clients. Within the more senior role there is the opportunity for you to help with the support and development of more junior lawyers, as well as lead specific pieces of work and some client relationships. Both roles offer the opportunity to undertake secondments with clients, really developing your ability to empathise with clients and deliver a highly valued service.
Candidates who have up to 2 years PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge/experience to undertake the role, and for the more senior role they will consider people with up to 5 or 6 years pqe. These levels have been given as an approximate guide and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant knowledge/experience.
These are excellent opportunities to join a market leading firm who have a highly innovative approach to their work and offer a really meritocratic environment within which to develop your career.
