The London office of this leading US law firm has been growing each year both in terms of revenues and with high profile partner hires.  The office now has significant influence in the global network and key UK lawyers are part of the global management.  The firm works on a global practice basis so the level of integration is superior to many international law firms in London. There are number of directories recognised lawyers and the London office is now almost full service.

The law firm is looking to hire a private equity funds formation partner in London.  You will be part of a leading funds practice working on some of the largest fund launches.  The team advises fund managers and sponsors and works with institutional investors.  Globally there are over 200 lawyers directly involved in the investment management practice or supporting the practice.  In London you will be supported by a strong regulatory and tax practice, both teams have lawyers with specific funds expertise.  In the US, needless to say, you will be supported by strong US tax lawyers, US regulatory lawyers and a number of lawyers advising on ESIRA matters. London has a well-established funds team and there is a clear gap for a private equity funds formation partner ideally with institutional clients but there would also be interest in an investor client base as well.

Following and background:

The firm does look for partner laterals to have a track record of winning clients and to have portable relationships.  You will need to have a minimum of £750,000 in a portable business case and the brand will enhance any practice.  You will have been a partner for at least 2 years and ideally be at a firm with a reputation for private equity fund formation.
