Are you an experienced Litigation Executive looking for a non fee-earning role? I have a new opportunity to join a Manchester City Centre based law firm within a brand new funding department. You will be working as a funding executive providing high level of support and co-ordination to the operations teams by managing the day to day activities relating to claims funded by ATEI (After The Event Insurance).

You will be required to have experience within Personal Injury and have an interest in auditing files.

Duties include:
  • Maintain knowledge of all the relevant funding arrangements within the firm
  • Manage the process of ATEI policy inception
  • Manage the process of updating the insurer on case progress as appropriate
  • Liaise with ATEI insurance brokers and underwriting staff and provide the required reports
  • Centrally manage the ATEI claims process in line with agreed internal policies and procedures and monitor claims reserves
  • Oversee the process for to payments to insurers for concluded matters under each scheme
  • Provide guidance to lawyers in respect of:
  • Retainers;
  • Alternative funding options;
  • Current and Legacy ATEI schemes and policy cover;
  • Non - delegated referral matters.
  • Audit and maintain the accuracy and integrity of data within the management information system to assist with monitoring compliance in accordance with SRA and FCA requirements
  • Audit funding elements of live files as required and provide guidance to Lawyers
  • Analyse and audit historic files as required
  • Manage the organisation and co-ordination of external audits requested by  ATEI providers
  • Assist the PI Management Team with the half yearly ATEI annual market review
  • Monitor service received from ATEI insurers and reporting to PI Management any concerns or trend
  • Training on core areas of responsibility as appropriate.
  • Provide advice to Senior Management on the improvement of existing funding practices, monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the ATEI processes and refining where necessary.
