The Employment department comprises 45 fee earners and, as the UK’s leading supplier of employment law services to NHS bodies, carries out work for around 100 healthcare bodies throughout the UK as well as for police forces, housing organisations and various third sector and private employers. The department is able to provide legal advice and training on the full range of employment law issues, from board level to generalist HR practitioner, and has a reputation for handling the most sensitive and high-profile employment law cases. The role will involve working on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters including general employment advisory work, the handling of employment tribunal claims, whistleblowing, high profile cases, advising on reorganisation and redundancy issues and the application of healthcare legislation to routine employment law scenarios. The candidate should have good client handling skills and be able to work well with other team members. We anticipate that the ideal candidate will have 0 – 3 years of post-qualification experience. The client base will be a mixture of Birmingham and London clients and so there will be an occasional need to travel down to London as necessary.
