Marine/Shipping Lawyer - 2 - 4 years PQE - London

An opportunity has arisen for a 2 - 4 years PQE Solicitor to join the Marine team of a well-regarded international law firm.

Our client is a Top 50 UK law firm with an outstanding reputation in insurance litigation work. They have enjoyed significant growth over the last few years and work with an impressive roster of clients from a network of offices across the globe. Due to a sustained increase in instructions and panel appointments they are now looking to expand their Marine Litigation team in London.

Forming part of a wider national team, the Marine department act for a wide range of clients including insurance and reinsurance companies, charterers, port operators and cargo owners, advising on a variety of matters including: international logistics matters (i.e. transportation of goods around the world by air, sea, road and rail, plus warehousing), subrogated cargo recoveries acting for the world's major insurers, yachting claims, marine trades and port/marina incidents. The work is extremely good quality with lots of opportunity for client contact and mainly involves litigation in the London Commercial and Admiralty Courts, but there are occasions when cases are subject to arbitration. There are also policy coverage advisory matters and non-contentious contract drafting opportunities that come with more experience.

They are looking to speak to 2 - 4 years PQE Solicitors, ideally with marine / shipping sector experience although that's not essential. If not, you will be either a commercial litigator, or working in commercial insurance litigation with an interest in focussing your career within this niche area. You will be responsible for running a caseload of your own matters under supervision and assisting on larger value cases for senior fee-earners. The work is diverse and high quality and there are excellent career prospects with the team and wider department.

This is a great opportunity to join a leading firm and global legal brand, who have an enviable reputation for work across the international marine sector. They can offer a competitive salary and package in addition to excellent career prospects to the successful applicant.
