Rare specialist Corporate Tax vacancy - leading SW firm !
Calling anyone currently working as a specialist Corporate Tax lawyer as we realise you are rare in the market anyway and let's be honest top quality roles in this specialist area don't appear very often..
Our client is a leading South West firm with over 450 lawyers, with offices in Exeter, here in Bristol and also in London, and perhaps most importantly they are able to refer back to a history and a tradition that stands them out from the crowd.. they have always been recognised as a 'blue blood' firm with fantastic heritage and even today they have a strong focus across their Private Wealth, Finance and Investment, and Real Estate work in particular.
As you would expect, the firm's Corporate practice is very highly regarded, and very successful. The Corporate team working across all three office locations boasts several very highly-rated individuals and is consistently ranked top tier for corporate finance in the South West in both the Legal500 and Chambers guides. The team has been winning lots of awards recently and they are having to turn away work as they have become victims of their own success over the last few years. The work is top quality and varied and including acting for a number of well-known clients advising on MBOs, mergers and acquisitions, MBIs, restructuring and private equity etc.
As part of the need to grow and further invest in the capability across the team, they have just announced this new vacancy for another Corporate Tax lawyer to join the team, where you will work alongside a very highly regarded Tax Director who is already growing this area of the team's work and can see plenty more work opportunities with both existing clients and potential new client wins. You will be responsible for providing tax support across the firm, on both non-contentious and contentious work, but this will be primarily corporate finance support, assistance with acquisitions and mergers, HMRC investigations and advice on investments such as EIS, and complex tax issues.
The ideal candidate will already have strong experience of working in a specialist Corporate Tax team with experience of advising clients on tax structure and tax implications including the purchase and sale of shares and businesses, demergers, reconstructions, MBOs, MBIs, equity raising, and joint ventures. Any wider experience of advising on share incentives and other forms of employee incentives will also be of interest and very valuable.
This is an exceptional, and rare, opening with a top firm.. the likelihood is this will be to be based in the firm's Exeter offices so if you are already working down in the Exeter market, or if you are considering a move to the area, and this sounds of interest please get in touch for more information, in complete confidence.
