Intellectual Property Solicitor- Exeter
My client is a leading light in IP work- Chambers rated and at the top of its game, now looking for an experienced IP lawyer with excellent communication skills to join this burgeoning team. You'll have at least around 3 years post qualified experience in this area and now be looking for a role in Exeter where you'll be able to enjoy a genuinely good work/life balance. Your role will focus on non contentious IP and commercial work with a little bit of contentious IP work like cease and desist orders and court proceedings at the early stages, however at least around 75% of your work will be non contentious. As regards the work itself, you'll find yourself negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts where IP forms the origins of the matter, such as licences, assignments, distribution and merchandising agreements, collaboration agreements and non disclosure agreements. You'll also play a role supporting on disputes, working closely with the firm's specialist patent and TMAs who deal with all the applications and management of registered rights. You will not need to have expertise in this area as training can be provided. You'll work closely with the corporate team assisting on due diligence exercises, advising on disclosures and the like and advising on IP warranties.
