Information / Governance Lawyer, Lincolnshire - 3+ years - Covering permanent recruitment for a minimum of 3 months, possible extension or permanent engagement.

JOB TITLE: Information / Governance Lawyer

PQE REQUIRED: 3+ years

LOCATION: Lincolnshire (commutable from: Newark-on-Trent, Lincoln, Horncastle, Brigg and Market Moor)

SALARY: Dependent on Experience

An interesting and varied requirement has arisen for an experienced Information and Governance Lawyer to join a busy public sector body covering a period of permanent recruitment. You will be joining a diverse legal team, advising departments across the organisation on all aspects of information law, responding to statutory information requests, and reviewing information sharing agreements for internal and external sharing. You will also provide guidance on compliance with all governance and regulatory frameworks, and will have an involvement in working towards GDPR implementation and compliance. This is a temporary position to cover permanent recruitment, so is likely to run for a minimum of 3 months, however, there is a strong likelihood of extension and the possibility of permanent engagement for the right candidate.

The appointed Information / Governance Lawyer will posses in excess of 3 years post qualification experience of advising on all aspects of data protection, information and governance law. This expertise will include a solid understanding and appreciation of the requirements of the GDPR legislation and the necessary steps to be taken within a public body. Some local authority or central government experience will be a distinct advantage. You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to discuss complex legal principles and requirements with non-legal team members.
